Our General Assemblies have space for 90 delegates each. Expect formal debate and resolution writing, with speaking time shared across a large committee.

SOCHUM

Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM)

Topic A: Protection of Endangered LanguagesTopic B: The Effectiveness of Humanitarian Aid

SOCHUM is the UN General Assembly committee that addresses social, humanitarian, and cultural issues. Delegates will debate the protection of Indigenous languages and the distribution of humanitarian aid.

Indigenous languages: Delegates will consider how governments and international organizations can support language preservation while respecting the leadership of Indigenous communities.

Humanitarian aid: Debate will examine how aid is funded, distributed, and monitored, including how organizations can respond quickly while meeting the different needs of affected communities.

SOCHUM offers the traditional Model United Nations experience for delegates of all experience levels and uses Regular Rules of Procedure. Position papers are recommended for this committee, but are mandatory for delegates to be considered for awards.

INTERPOL

International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL)

Topic A: Reducing the Impact of Organized CrimeTopic B: The Prevention of Government Corruption

INTERPOL supports cooperation between national police services. Delegates will consider how countries can work together against organized crime and government corruption.

Organized crime: Debate will focus on sharing information across borders, disrupting criminal revenue, and coordinating investigations into transnational organizations.

Government corruption: Delegates will consider how cross-border cooperation and accountability measures can address corruption involving public officials and businesses.
